HONORS 221: Evolution and Human Behavior
Of the Honors classes I've taken, those taught by Professor Jon Herron have been my favorite. The topics we cover are absolutely fascinating and fell right in line with my medical anthropology focus. Our class time was very interactive and I felt like we spent equal time discussing and discovering then listening to Jon's fabulous stories. We played games, ran simulations, played with educational computer programs, read fascinating books, and presented research findings to each other. What struck me most about Jon's classes was that they really solidified a foundation that had been laid in previous classes. Though I had been introduced to much of the material before, Jon's expertise and innovative class settings guided me through the concepts in a new way that deepened my understanding. I really felt like I knew the why and the how of evolution in a new way.
